Rock, Paper, Shotgun has reported that, at the annual EVE fanfest, CCP announced that they have been working on a project called EVE VR.
EVE VR is a prototype that functions with the head-mounted display device, the Oculus Rift. Unlike EVE Online, players can take part in real-time space dogfights, while looking around the cockpit of their spacecraft using the Rift.
RPS has also reported however, that the developers have not mentioned anything about incorporating this tech into their existing MMO EVE Online, and that further development plans, if there even are any, will be directed towards another separate title from the MMO.
