Activision has announced today that the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise will be Call of Duty: Ghosts. The new game will have an all new world, new story, new characters, and a new engine to run the game.
Infinity Ward, the original Call of Duty developers, have done the smart thing and decided not to make Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. “Everyone was expecting us to make Modern Warfare 4, which would have been the safe thing to do. But we’re not resting on our laurels,” said Mark Rubin, executive producer of developer Infinity Ward. “We saw the console transition as the perfect opportunity to start a new chapter for Call of Duty. So we’re building a new sub-brand, a new engine, and a lot of new ideas and experiences for our players. We can’t wait to share them with our community.”
The first real look at the new title will be shown on May 21st, the game is already set to be released on November 5th and you can start pre-ordering now…someone seems pretty confident in their work.
