A new trailer has been released for Ubisoft’s upcoming stealth-action title Splinter Cell: Blacklist. The trailer highlights the game’s “Spies vs. Mercs” team-based competitive multiplayer mode, which was first introduced in Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow.
In this mode, a team of stealth-oriented spies is pitted against a team of gun-wielding mercenaries who are out to hunt them down. Each team has its own play-style, gadgets, weapons, and objectives. More notably however, Spies are controlled from a third-person perspective using gadgets and employing stealth tactics which are similar to those employed by the game’s main protagonist Sam Fisher, while the Mercenaries are controlled from a first-person perspective.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist is a follow up to 2010’s Splinter Cell: Conviction, and is set for release on August 23rd.
