New Wolfenstein title sets its sights on a Q4 2013 release

Publisher Bethesda Softworks announced today that a new game in the Wolfenstein franchise, Wolfenstein: The New Order, is in the making and on its way to a Q4 2013 release. The title is being developed by MachineGames, a company comprised of seasoned developers that are SWEDISH. The original Wolfenstein 3D is the granddaddy of all first-person shooters, and The New Order is looking to breathe new life into the franchise, as it is a reimagining of the classic tale of soldier versus Nazis (this time they will be alternate reality 1960’s Nazis!).

Jens Matthies, creative director at MachineGames, offered some love and respect for the series with these words: “We are excited to bring a new chapter of Wolfenstein to gamers everywhere. As fans of the series, working on this game is an honor, and our team is driven to create an unforgettable action-adventure experience that will make FPS fans proud.”

GameSpot has the exclusive reveal trailer for your enjoyment right here, with additional story details regarding The New Order hitting their site within the upcoming days, starting tomorrow. Wolfenstein: The New Order is looking to hit the 360, PS3, PC, and next generation future boxes by year’s end.
