City Quest is a game that is being developed by Stone Monkey Studios, an independent team comprised of Ryan Nohr and Jon Rasmussen.
The game is a retro-looking point-and-click adventure, of the likes of traditional Lucas Art point-and-click games such as Full Throttle and Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, which follows the trials and tribulations of a farmer who makes it to the big city.
Rasmussen has described the game’s story as one that “will likely offend anyone that plays it, but hopefully it makes them laugh at the same time”. Players will also have the opportunity to branch the story off into four possible paths.
The developers recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for the game, and have managed to raise just over half of their $8,000 fundraising goal. They hope to raise the full amount by June 2nd (just 5 days away), to include a full fledged soundtrack by Sound Designer Akash Thakkar.
If you’re a fan of old school point-and-click adventure then be sure to check out City Quest through its official Kickstarter page (link above) and Steam Greenlight. A demo is currently available for the game, while the full version is planned for release this holiday season.
