Mirror’s Edge game officially announced for Next-Gen!

EA has officially released a teaser trailer for a new Mirror’s Edge game with DICE at the helm! Fans of the original game elevated the female protagonist, Faith, to an iconic status since its release five long years ago. However, don’t get too excited just yet! DICE isn’t calling the next game a sequel. It looks like the new Mirror’s Edge will reboot the franchise for the next generation consoles with advanced visuals and an all-new origin story for Faith.

Still early in development, the Senior Producer of DICE Sara Jansson says, “We introduced Mirror’s Edge and Faith to gamers five years ago, and we’ve waited for the right moment to reunite them…Thanks to the Frostbite engine and a new generation of platforms, we are now able to deliver a richer world that players will be able to explore with a new level of freedom in both movement and action.”

Mirror’s Edge will be released (no estimated street date has been given yet) on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and also for PC. So what are you all thinking? If this is just a reboot with a new story, is it leaving a slightly sour taste in your mouth? Or is it just so damn cool you don’t care?
