Microsoft has released its third game for their Free Games With Gold program, Assassin’s Creed 2.
This is one of the two games that Microsoft announced at their E3 press conference unveiling of the promotion. While it initially was assumed by the general public that Assassin’s Creed 2 and Halo 3 would be the first two games available through the new initiative, it was later clarified by Major Nelson on Twitter where he said, “FAQ, ‘Halo 3‘ and ‘Assassin’s Creed 2‘ were mentioned as part of the program – no date was given for their release.” Instead the first two games released were Fable 3 and Defense Grid.
Starting today though, Assassin’s Creed 2 will be available as a free download from the Xbox Live Marketplace until the end of the month.
Assuming you have not played it before it is worth a pick up, especially at a price point of free.
