Eminem and Activision join forces for new Call of Duty promotion

Two of the biggest entities in money-making media, rapper Eminem and popular FPS franchise Call of Duty are joining forces to take over the game this November. With both Call of Duty: Ghosts and Eminem’s new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 coming out on the same date, the offer will see retailer Gamestop offering redeemable codes with pre-ordered copies of Ghosts. These codes will allow fans to download a special copy of the MMLP2 for $8.99 which includes an exclusive bonus track.

“The energy and intensity of ‘Survival’ really matches Call of Duty: Ghosts,” commented Eminem. “I’m excited to continue to be a part of the franchise.”

The original reveal of Call of Duty: Ghosts in August also featured an Eminem track in the trailer titled “Survival” so it looks like the promotion is the continuation of the business relationship between the hip-hop star and Activision.

Call of Duty is an entertainment juggernaut and cultural phenomenon.  We are excited for the upcoming release of the new installment of this blockbuster franchise, Call of Duty: Ghosts,” said Bob Puzon, Senior Vice President of merchandising at GameStop.  “We look forward to celebrating the worldwide November launch of this great game that is on track to be the most pre-ordered title of the year.”

Look for Call of Duty: Ghosts and the MMLP 2 in stores and online this November 5th.
