A short while ago, rumors were circulating on various news blogs that the online component to Grand Theft Auto V may feature some kind of micro-transaction model.
In a recent post, the folks at Eurogamer claimed that “the code of Rockstar’s own site” revealed that players would be able to purchase currency cards, called “Shark Cash Cards”, at the following prices:
- $100,000 Red Shark Cash Card – £1.99
- $200,000 Tiger Shark Cash Card – £3.49
- $500,000 Bull Shark Cash Card – £6.99
- $1,250,000 Great White Shark Cash Card – £13.49
The blog also went on to say that most items will cost significantly less than they do in single-player, while others, such as weapon and car mods will cost more. They also claimed that players will only be able to own one piece of property at a time, and that some items will have to be unlocked by ranking up, before they are purchasable.
Nothing has been confirmed by Rockstar as of yet. We will keep you updated on the latest that comes our way, until Grand Theft Auto Online’s official release on October 1st.
