Valve has released a video featuring one of their engineers using the new controller for a few different games, such as Portal 2, CounterStrike:GO, and Civilization V, covering a few genres. While it doesn’t seem to be as sensitive as you might get with a mouse, it does look like it gets the job done, maybe even better than a conventional controller due to velocity-based movement. Also, while watching this guy play the RTS or point-and-click games, it seems like it will be much more intuitive than it might be with the conventional controller. You can see the video here:
In many games (such as Portal 2), the track pads will be able to be configured independently so you can change how you move to your liking. Honestly, seeing it in action has put some of my fears at ease, but I guess we won’t be sure until it’s in the hands of some gamers to test! What do you guys think? Let us know in the comments!
