Video game music fans will love to hear that celebrated French composer Olivier Deriviere, who has scored popular video game soundtracks for Remember Me, Alone In The Dark, and Of Orcs and Men, has joined Ubisoft to compose the musical score for Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag – Freedom Cry.
Set in the Caribbean at the dawn of the 18th Century, Freedom Cry is a single-player story DLC about Adéwalé, a slave who becomes an assassin and attempts to save his enslaved people in Haiti.
To set the mood for Freedom Cry, Deriviere’s score features performances by world-class symphony orchestra The Brussels Philharmonic as well as live drums, a cappella soloists and choir performed in the tradition of Afro-Haitian ancestral music. There is not an official release date for the Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag – Freedom Cry Original Soundtrack, but it will be available on iTunes and other digital music sites before the release of the game.
Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag – Freedom Cry will be available for download through the Season Pass.
