EA has announced that Jon ‘Bones’ Jones, the youngest champion in UFC history, will be one of the two fighters to appear on EA SPORTS UFC Cover. In response, Jones stated that “it’s a huge honor to be selected as one of the fighters to appear on the cover of EA SPORTS UFC,” and that he’ll “definitely be following the Cover Vote to see which fighter the fans choose to join [him] as the face of the game.”
That’s right, EA has left it up to the fans to decide who the second fighter to appear on the cover will be.
Presented by MetroPCS, the EA SPORTS UFC Cover Vote will run until December 1, 11:59:59 PM EST, and will consist of a weekly round-by-round, 16-fighter, head-to-head tournament. The fighters virtually facing off for this honor will be Demetrious Johnson, Chris Weidman, Dominick Cruz, Junior Dos Santos, Urijah Faber, Chael Sonnen, Jose Aldo, Michael Bisping, Anthony Pettis, Alex Gustafsson, Ben Henderson, Daniel Cormier, Georges St-Pierre, Ronda Rousey, Johny Hendricks, and Miesha Tate.
The vote schedule is as follows:
- Round of 16: Prelims – Voting live from Monday, Nov 4th to Sunday, Nov 10th.
- Round of 8: Main Card – Voting live from Monday, Nov 11th to Sunday, Nov 17th.
- Final Four: Co-Main Event – Voting live from Monday, Nov 18th to Sunday, Nov 24th.
- Finals: Title Fight – Voting live from Monday, Nov 19th to Sunday Dec 1st.
