Final Fantasy VIII released on Steam

Have you been enjoying Final Fantasy VII on Steam? Well now you can add more Final Fantasy to your Steam games list with the release of Final Fantasy VIII, now available for download on Steam.

Square Enix has optimized the game to run on current PC hardware, and with Steam, they have integrated some new features. There is now a Magic Booster that will give users the ability to power up their spells, over 40 achievements to pursue, and Steam Cloud support. Also included is the previously unavailable Chocobo World, which was not released to Western players back in the day.

Many of us had a love-hate relationship with Squall and the game itself when it followed up the incredibly awesome FFVII, but I grew to love the game after my one and only playthrough. For $11.99, maybe it’s time to play through it once more.
