I remember when I used to dream of teaching classes with video games. Imagine using Assassin’s Creed as a tool for educational history or guiding your students through the slums of Midgar while discussing environmental issues.
Well, it seems a Norway teacher has beaten me to the punch. Destructoid reports that he’s using Telltale’s The Walking Dead as a video game catalyst for ethical conversation. Students vote on tough situations and then discuss the results in a group afterwards. The experiment seems to be working, as students are finding that they remember the material quite well due to the added involvement.
Someone give this teacher an award for his coolness!
