Did you watch the trailer above yet? Spider-Man himself looked awesome. The detail in the costume and the animation during the fight scenes and web slinging through the city stood out on my first view. Everything else…not so much. The enemies and environments lacked a certain polish I would have expected from a gameplay trailer.
The game, to me, is riding on two major elements to have a strong chance of success. First, this game MUST have a free roam mode. If they build this game as a ‘by the rails’ level to level game, it will lose what made the previous Spider-Man titles so special. Nothing beats swinging through the city as Spider-Man. Second, the fighting system must be smooth. Looking at the trailer, I’m a bit worried about the combat system because they showed a lot of ‘finishing moves’ or stealth moves. No real indication how combat will play against multiple enemies, which can often look and play sloppy when there are a lot of special moves in a game.
Anyone else find it weird they never showed Peter Parker’s face during the whole trailer?
