Rambo: The Video Game gets a solid European release date, and a vaguer U.S. one

UK publisher Reef Entertainment has announced that Rambo: The Video Game will be launching across Europe on February 21st, for the PS3, 360, and PC. A less certain, more ambiguous release date was given for North America and Canada: Q1 2014.

Rambo: The Video Game will put gamers in the blood and sweat soaked boots of John Rambo, as they play through the story arcs from the films First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II, and Rambo III (shouldn’t Rambo III be called Rambo: First Blood Part III or just Rambo II)? Hey, where is the recent film Rambo? I would love to reenact this scene (warning: gratuitous violence!):

The upcoming title will feature the movie voice-tracks of John Rambo and Col. Samuel Trautman, as well as music from the original trilogy. Adorable figurines of Rambo will be available as pre-order incentives at select European retailers while supplies last, and they cannot be ordered separately (boo!). European gamers can check out the deets here.

A spokesperson from Reef dropped some information regarding upcoming DLC plans for Rambo: The Video Game, saying:

“We are delighted to announce the final EU release date for Rambo: The Video Game and although the main game is now complete our journey with Rambo continues as we will soon start development on the game’s first DLC expansion pack with our partners at Teyon.”

Check out the game’s official page here. There is also a trailer below. It looks a little rough around the edges, but I see a bit of potential here, because it’s RAMBO! What do you readers think?
