Square Enix announces the launch of FF XIV: A Realm Reborn on PS4

Square Enix has made it official: Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is available on the PS4 starting today.


Already a big hit on the PS3 and PC among fans and critics alike, the PS4 port of FF XIV comes with some cool enhancements to make you want to upgrade: prettier graphics, Vita remote play functionality so gamers can take their adventurin’ on the go, mouse and keyboard support, and Share button functionality, so players can stream their favorite moments and share memorable screenshots with fellow community members.

Also, you can tend the SHIT out of gardens

The Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Collector’s Edition is also available today. Gamers who already own the Collector’s Edition on the PC or PS3 will also be granted two new additional in-game items (Fat Chocobo Mount and Wind-up Moogle Minion).

The Collector’s Edition contains the following items:

* Exclusive Box
* Art Book – The Art of Eorzea: A Realm Reimagined
* Special Soundtrack – The Sounds of Eorzea
* Art Card Set
* Themed Security Token
* Seventh Umbral Era Special Movie Content Disc – The Waning of the Sixth Sun
* In-Game Items – Fat Chocobo Mount, Coeurl Mount, Behemoth Barding, Wind-up Moogle, Baby Behemoth, Helm of Light

What about those poor players who already own FF XIV on PS3 but want PS4 action? Well, they can upgrade to the PS4 version for FREE! Please note that once upgraded, gamers will never, ever be able to go back to the PS3 version of A Realm Reborn to play, so if you want to play both the PS3 and PS4 versions, you are gonna have to just shell out the cash for the PS4 edition of the game. The Standard Edition of FF XIV will run gamers $39.99, while the Collector’s Edition will cost $79.99 retail and $59.99 digital. PS3 and PS4 players can also upgrade to the digital-only Collector’s Edition for in-game bonuses via the FF XIV Mog Station. 30 days of game time is included for new accounts, with monthly subscriptions starting at $12.99.
