Hex: Shards of Fate begins closed beta registration

Publisher Cryptozoic Entertainment announced today that as of today, they are starting to send out keys for closed beta testing of their upcoming game, Hex: Shards of Fate.  Cryptozoic is best known for their production of board games and TCGs, and this is the company’s debut into online gaming.  Hex was funded by crowdsourcing through Kickstarter, and will be the first of a brand new gaming genre: the MMOTCG.  The game is an online trading card game with RPG aspects rolled into it, where you customize and build up both your character and cards with unique perks and abilities.  As you challenge other players and get more rewards, you can augment your decks with equipment and gain the advantage during play.  Hex will feature eight playable races and six different classes, each with individual abilities that affect the strategies and tactics you can utilize to build your decks.  To be eligible for the beta, all you have to do is register here. No release date has been announced for the game yet, but both Windows and Mac gamers will be able to play it come release.  Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available!
