Anybody interested in a free game today? To celebrate the release of the Game of the Year update for the multiplayer standalone expansion Rising Storm, Tripwire Interactive is giving away copies of Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad, PC Gamer’s 2011 First-Person Shooter Game of the Year (Multiplayer), absolutely free on Steam for today only.
You can download the full game from now until Thursday, April 24th at 10AM PDT and can keep it in your Steam library forever. The only caveat is that you must install it. If you don’t install it, then it will go back to its regular price and you would have missed out on a pretty good freebie. It is also noted in the Steam listing that anyone who picks up Red Orchestra 2 will also receive limited rifle-only access to the Rising Storm expansion.
According to the Tripwire announcement, “Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad focuses on the Battle of Stalingrad and the surrounding operations, both German and Russian, from July 1942 to February 1943. The game allows the player to experience one of the most brutal battles in all of human history. Delivering unrivaled accuracy and attention to detail, along with gritty, vicious combat in multiplayer and single-player modes the game will feature everything from quick, brutal firefights to more intricate and challenging tactical modes.”
Head on over to the Steam Store to download your copy before this deal is over.
