Kotaku posted a video of a recent project by Michael Eurek, a lighting and textural artist, who rebuilt the famous Temple of Time from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time using Unreal Engine 4. Any hardcore Zelda fans watching this video will immediately get goosebumps and/or urge to replay the N64 classic.
“Several months ago, it was suggested to me by a friend that a fun/challenging exercise would be to recreate an environment from an old game I like using modern techniques,” said Eurek on his vimeo page. “I thought this was a great idea, so I have put together a recreation and personal adaptation of The Temple of Time from The Legend of Zelda.”
Here’s the incredibly awesome video… which you may have to click through to vimeo to watch it in HD. It’s cool. We will be here when you get back.
Wow. The music is ominous too, created by Nathanial Arnold. I really would love to one day see a tone to Zelda that may be more mature than what Nintendo would like, but I highly doubt that would ever happen. I think Twilight Princess is a dark as we will ever get with the series.
Kudos Michael! I think I speak for the internet in saying we would love to see more! What would you love to see rebuilt in HD? Sound off in the comments section!
