A developed team comprised of members who have previously worked on Ultima Online, Warhammer Online, and games in Elder Scrolls franchise, have launched a Kickstarter campaign for an ambitious MMORPG called Shards Online.
Shards will take players to a multiverse “where the community has the ultimate power”. Eurogamer reports that, unlike most modern MMORPGs, Shards will let players create their own servers with their own rulesets and gameplay mechanics. Each multiverse will also have its own setting, which the developers are saying can range from science-fiction to the wild-west.
Citadel is already eight months into the game’s development, and needs $320,000 in funding to complete the project. The game will be free-to-play after the base game purchase (which will cost below $30), with the option of paying for a premium monthly subscription.
