Just in case you fans of the Sniper Elite series weren’t already drumming your fingers and making room on your hard drive for Sniper Elite 3‘s release next month, Rebellion promises something just as big to come. Surprisingly, it doesn’t seem to be directly about SE3 at all. Rebellion’s CEO and Creative Director Jason Kingsley explains during an interview:
“We couldn’t be more excited about Sniper Elite 3’s launch on June 27th. Naturally, being on five platforms – including the new consoles – means it’s had more attention than anything we’ve made before. We’ve been taken aback with the interest and reception so far.”
“But there’s always more work to be done getting the Sniper Elite name in the hearts and minds of gamers who are new to the IP, or aren’t aware of the stealth and emergent gameplay that surrounds the core sniping mechanics”
“Next week’s news will be a huge step towards this goal.”
- Awwwww! Gross! Right in the f#cking eyeball!
Questions abound? Curiosity piqued? Same here. The only thing to do would be to kill some time by taking advantage of the team-up offers Rebellion and Steam have come up with until this news breaks. If you head over to Steam for the pre-order of Sniper Elite 3, you will get a 20% discount on the game’s launch price and the highly-anticipated DLC mission “Target Hitler: Hunt the Grey Wolf” will be included for free!
While Rebellion is handling the PC version, 505 Games will be responsible for distributing this unique sniping game on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for around £24.85 or $39.99 (standard edition), while the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will be around £40.85 or $49.99 (standard edition). Sniper Elite 3 is set to be released in Europe on June 27th, and in North America on July 1st. For more details or to have some questions answered, head over to SE3’s official site for more!
