Warner Bros. Interactive announces next bloody brawler, Mortal Kombat X

Warner Bros. Interactive has announced NetherRealm Studios’ next Mortal Kombat title, Mortal Kombat X. Mortal Kombat X is scheduled to release in 2015 for the PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and PS4. The game will have its first public unveiling at Los Angeles’ E3 2014 in a few days.

Scorpion is ready to cut some fools down

Martin Tremblay, President of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, shared these words about the upcoming fighter:

“Mortal Kombat is our acclaimed, world-renowned franchise and we are now advancing the fighting genre with Mortal Kombat X. NetherRealm Studios is best in class at delivering games fans love and they are taking their iconic brand to the next level with Mortal Kombat X.”

Ed Boon, Creative Director at NetherRealm Studios and whose name has been synonymous with Mortal Kombat since its inception, proclaimed:

“Mortal Kombat has always been about over-the-top, visceral fighting and with Mortal Kombat X we wanted to utilise the power of new-gen consoles to give players our most intense game yet. The team has worked hard to make sure Mortal Kombat X delivers everything fans expect along with new characters, new game modes and an all new graphics engine.”

Mortal Kombat X is already touting a new fully-connected experience that launches gamers into a persistent online contest where every fight matters in a global battle for bragging rights. For the first time in Mortal Kombat’s history, players will be able to choose between multiple variations of each kombatant that impacts their fighting style and strategy. New kharacters will join returning favorites like Scorpion and Sub-Zero in the battle between good, evil, and decent attire for the female fighters.
