Ubisoft revealed at last night’s E3 conference that they are working on a new title in the Rainbow Six franchise called Rainbow Six Siege.
The 5 minute-long gameplay demo revealed that the game will feature a 5v5 multiplayer mode where a team of counter-terrorists must infiltrate a stronghold held up by 5 other player-controlled terrorists and rescue a hostage. There have been no announcements as to whether the game will feature a singleplayer mode. Sieges will take place in small-scale closed and destructible environments powered by Ubisoft’s “Realblast” Engine.
This next entry in the franchise will be considered a welcome return by fans of the series who have not seen a new Rainbow Six game since 2008’s Rainbow Six Vegas 2. Rainbow Six Siege will be released for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and is set for release sometime in 2015.
