New turn-based action strategy game from the developer of the Fire Emblem and Advance Wars series announced

At a roundtable event during E3, Nintendo announced a new turn-based title from developer Intelligent Systems, creators of the Fire Emblem and Advance Wars series. Named Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., the title will be hitting the 3DS exclusively sometime in 2015.

Inspired by third-person shooters, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. incorporates strategy into its gameplay like Intelligent Systems’ previous titles, but with a twist. The game takes place in a steampunk world, with characters battling aliens using a behind-the-shoulder perspective. The battlefield is fully 3-D with a customizable 4-member team, and cover, counter-attacks, and ambushes are emphasized (like Gears of War for handhelds!). Also, a steam gauge is depleted every time a move is made, so players have to really plan their actions out before they run out of steam. New weapons and items will also become available to gamers over time, meaning more explosions and kabooms for everyone involved.
