Sony may have just screwed you: TLoU pre-order price just dropped.

Update!

You can relax TLoU fans! Later on in the evening of the 21st, Adam Boyes stepped up and did the honorable thing. Twitter account “Ask PlayStation” jumped in on the hashtags and provided information on how to obtain details on the refund. If you haven’t received your refund yet, check it out!

Original story:

So do you remember how excited you were to learn that The Last of Us was being remastered for the PS4, and you immediately rushed to pay for the pre-order? Do you remember paying $59.99 for it? Yeah, the price just dropped down to $49.99 for those who waited or didn’t have enough creds in the bank. Oh, and just in case you didn’t see the not-so-fine-print below those fancy pre-order bonuses…

YOU MAY NOT CANCEL A PRE-ORDER AT ANY TIME AND REFUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDERS, SUBJECT TO APPLICABLE LAWS.

This is how a lot of fans must feel right now…

Many have already contacted Sony in order to receive credit back to their PSN wallet or bank account, no such luck at this time. By Sony’s own mouth no refunds, or partial, are legally due to any of us who have already paid. The worst part about this is that the update on Sony’s own site came after the MSRP changed on multiple other retailers’ sites or stores. Insult to injury.

While Sony isn’t responsible for us suckers who love TLoU so much we probably didn’t even realize we had paid for the pre-order until ten minutes after the money left our accounts, I do honestly doubt that they will stick to their legal guns on this one. While most of my games are on the Xbox 360, I have personal experience with Sony’s customer service and it is worth five shiny gold stars. So try to breathe, let the fires smolder…and wait for that freebie add-on that Sony will hopefully throw our way to sooth our troubled souls.
