Bloodborne gets Japanese release date

Fans of From Software‘s brutal and blood-soaked games will be delighted to know that the upcoming spiritual successor to Demon Souls and Dark Souls will be with them sooner than they may have hoped. At Sony’s pre-TGS press conference in Japan (reported on by IGN), Bloodborne‘s Japanese release date was revealed as being the 5th February, 2015. Of course, this does not necessarily indicate that Europe and North America will receive the game at about the same time, but it surely won’t be too far behind. Right? Right…?

The Playstation 4 exclusive has recently had a slew of trailers and gameplay footage released, and gameplay was well received by attendees of this year’s Gamescon. Fans of the Souls franchise are happy to have famed director Hidetaka Miyazaki back at the helm (after some disappointment with Dark Souls 2), and so the relatively close release date of early February is certainly something to be happy about. I mean, that’s only five months away. And though it is unlikely that Western audiences will get the game on the 5th (Thursday would be an odd day for a Western game release), we can pretty safely set our scopes on early February.

And just for good measure, here is the TGS trailer, with the release date. Just to prove we aren’t lying. And to see all that glorious blood being splattered about again.
