Danganronpa: Another Episode will be out in Japan for the PS Vita later this month; specifically September 25th.
The game is a spin-off of Danganronpa, a visual novel series developed by Spike Chunsoft that was only brought over to the West back in February. Two entries have since been released for the Vita; Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, (which came out last week and was reviewed on this very site) both of which were set in high-schools that had been taken over by a robotic teddy bear called Monokuma, who forced the students to take part in a game of murder, lies and betrayal.
While these games functioned like a mix of Persona and Ace Attorney, this new title is a third-person adventure game with survival horror elements. Taking place in between the last two games, players take control of Komaru Naegi (sister of the main character of the first game) as she uses a hacking megaphone gun to turn her words into ammunition to use against an army of Monokuma robots and solve puzzles.
It seems to be a unique take on the genre, as well as blending it with the gameplay of the last two games. Hopefully, we’ll receive word on whether it will come out to the West soon. For now, check out the trailer.
