With Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS already out in Japan, we Westerners are feeling mighty jealous. Well, to tide us over, a free demo will become available next week on September 19th.
This marks the popular fighting crossover series’ first appearance on a handheld and will feature many of Nintendo’s popular characters, including some special guests like Sonic the Hedgehog and Pac-Man. Not much is known about the demo but if it’s anything like the one that Japan got, it will be very limited, only allowing basic matches and having Mario, Link, Pikachu, the Villager from Animal Crossing and Megaman as playable characters. The much touted Smash Run mode won’t be available either.
The final game will come out October 3rd. The Wii U version should be out by the end of the year.
