According to a report from VideoGamer, Assassin’s Creed Unity will be locked to 30fps and 900p resolution for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Senior Producer at Ubisoft, Vincent Pontbriant, went on to say that the primary issue they faced when developing the game for consoles was cpu processing limitations. The game’s AI was supposedly very taxing on the cpu of both consoles, which were, in contrast, more than capable of handling the game’s visuals.
It’s worth noting that Black Flag initially launched for PS4 and Xbox One at 900p and 30fps, with a post-release patch for the PS4 following soon after that bumped up the resolution to 1080p. Ubisoft hasn’t commented on whether they plan on doing the same for Unity.
Assassin’s Creed Unity is set for release on November 11th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
