Anime fans rejoice! Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax, a 2D fighting game released in arcades in Japan in the tail end of 2014, has now been confirmed by its publisher, SEGA, to be coming to the West.
The game is a celebration of the Dengeki Bunko imprint’s 20th anniversary and features characters from its many light novel series, such as Kirito and Asuna (the main characters of Sword Art Online, which is more well known for its anime adaptation). Aside from a hefty main roster, there will also be assist characters that can be summoned to aid you during fights and even a couple of SEGA guest stars, including Selvaria Bles from Valkyria Chronicles.
The console version will have all the features of the original arcade version, such as an original story mode, and will contain an exclusive mode called Dream Duel Mode, which is essentially fanservice as they show interactions between the many characters.
The release of this title is further proof of how companies have been more willing to bring otherwise obscure games to the Western regions. If this game were released ten years ago, it would never have left Japan. Now, though, all of you who have been waiting diligently shall be rewarded.
Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax will be released this Summer for both PS3 and Vita. If you want to know more, follow the link and check out the trailer.
