Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater makes a comeback

Revealed officially this morning on the GameInformer website, Activision and developer Robomodo have officially announced Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5.  Boasting a return to the classic gameplay of the series’ golden days, the game will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One later in the fall/winter, with the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions following sometime after that.

Fans of the series will be happy to learn that THPS5 will pay homage to the old-school design of the previous games when the title was at the height of its popularity.  GameInformer describes that the game will seek to combine finely tuned gameplay with the ability to use power-ups and shooting projectiles for mission specific activities.

In addition, according to GameInformer, “THPS5 will feature a new set of levels packed with objectives and missions you can complete solo or with friends via online co-op and competitive play.  Whether you just want to have a session with friends or strangers or want to level up your character online and then take them offline, the game’s online flow is seamless.  Your created skate parks can also be shared with the world.”

THPS5 will offer a Who’s Who of returning favorites as well as Tony Hawk himself.  Playable characters will include skaters from past games alongside newer members to the scene such as Nyjah Huston, Aaron Homoki, Ishod Wair, Riley Hawk (Tony Hawk’s son), Lizzie Armanto, Chris Cole, David Gonzalez, Leticia Bufoni, and Andrew Reynolds, who are all confirmed to make an appearance.
