The Yakuza series, infamously slow to transition across the pond, is one of Sega’s most reliable brands, consistently delivering quality games containing exactly what their intended audience desire: brutal carnage, dramatic storytelling, hilariously off-tone comedy and lots and lots of baseball practice.
Sega has released video of an interview recently conducted with series director Toshihiro Nagoshi and Yakuza 5 producer Masayoshi Yokoyama. This is part one of a series of videos discussing the game’s development, scope and general dramatic theme, which this time around is all about “following your dreams.”
Players will once again step into the snakeskin shoes of hero-to-all Kazuma Kiryu, I’m assuming to follow his dreams of looking edgy, going to hostess bars, and mashing in gangster heads with traffic cones.
Work continues on the Western localisation of Yakuza 5, coming to Playstation 3 later this year.
