In a recent statement, Chris Roberts, lead developer of Star Citizen, stated that the release of the FPS module to the upcoming space sim has been delayed due to “technical and gameplay-related issues.”
The module, titled “Star Marine”, has been delayed indefinitely with no clear release date in sight. Roberts’ went on to summarize the reasons behind the delay, stating that “the current build doesn’t feel like it lives up to standards we’ve want to achieve with Star Citizen.” Furthermore, the delay will certainly have an impact on Star Citizen‘s already shaky release schedule. The main challenge Roberts and his team are dealing with at the moment is releasing the upcoming build of the game with the Star Marine module disabled.
More details on the delay and the current state of Star Citizen can be found in Roberts’ official statement.
