The kings of the lengthy Beta, Blizzard Entertainment, have announced that training for upcoming team-shooter Overwatch will begin October 27th. The Beta will initially be locked to America on an invite-only basis. However, starting from the weekend of Nov. 6, the Overwatch gates will be opened sporadically for International players.
From the Blizzard blog:“We’re aiming to accomplish two primary goals with our public beta test: First, get tons of top-notch feedback to help us make Overwatch the best team-based shooter on the planet. Second, we want to hammer the heck out of our tech, making sure the game runs great on the widest variety of systems possible.”
Blizzard have been steadily releasing trailers for the game’s colourful cast of heroes, and are no doubt hoping that audiences worldwide will take to Overwatch with the same enthusiasm as the globally successful Team Fortress. I know I’m looking forward to it, the cast of characters and fast-paced co-op action is right up my alleyway.
Overwatch is coming to PC in 2016. Interested in the Beta? Opt-in at Battle.net.
