Treyarch, the developer of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, has revealed that the PC version of the latest installment in the franchise will include modding support.
According to an official statement on the company’s site, Black Ops III on PC will let players create their own content (including maps and game modes), and host them on unranked dedicated servers. The game will also include an Unranked Server Browser so players can find modded servers easily.
Modding is being introduced to the series for the the first time ever, so Treyarch is expecting a rough launch where planned features may “slip or drop-off altogether”. Closed Alpha testing is scheduled to begin in March 2016, while an Open Beta will kick off sometime after.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III is set for release on November 6th.
