Rise of the Tomb Raider ventures to PC and Steam January 28th

Since Rise of the Tomb Raider‘s timed exclusivity on the XBox One and 360, those of us without those consoles have been wondering when Lara was going to show up elsewhere. Well, PlayStation owners will be delighted to hear they have to wait longer, but PC and Steam users can get ready for Ms. Croft’s latest adventure to be readily available January 28th.

BEARS!

BEARS!

Rise of the Tomb Raider will come with Windows 10 support on PC, as well as 4K resolution. Scot Amos, co-Head of Studio at Crystal Dynamics, had these words to share regarding the PC release:

“The PC release of Rise of the Tomb Raider continues the positive momentum from our highly successful partnership and collaboration with Microsoft for the launch on Xbox One and Xbox 360.”

Hope it was successful enough for you, Scot, since I know many people (including myself) that are waiting for a definitive edition of your game to come to the PS4.

For those who want a little background, Rise of the Tomb Raider follows Lara on her first tomb raiding adventure to Siberia while chasing the secret of immortality (Last Crusade much?). Lara must find this classified information before the dastardly Trinity organization does, who players might remember being mentioned in the Tomb Raider reboot.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will be available as a digital download via Steam, the Windows Store, Amazon, the Square Enix e-store, and major retailers (as both a physical release or download). The title retails for $59.99, though rich folk can spring for the Digital Deluxe Edition for $89.99 and get a Season Pass thrown in, to boot. If money truly is no object, then gamers can buy the Collector’s Edition of the game, which includes the Deluxe Edition, a 12 inch Lara statue, a Lara journal replica, a jade necklace, and a steel case. This edition can be yours for $149.99 through Square Enix’s e-store.
