Ubisoft breaks record after the release of Tom Clancy’s The Division

Tom Clancy's The Division sales skyrocket to $330 million

French video game developer Ubisoft‘s sales for the renowned and brand new Tom Clancy’s The Division have skyrocketed. Both physical and digital copies worth about $330 million have been sold in just the first five days post its release, breaking an all-time record in new video game franchise history. The post-apocalyptic title, released back on March 8th, has already been labelled as Ubisoft’s best-selling title to date.

On top of record breaking sales, player engagement is the highest ever for any Ubisoft title, demonstrating, among other things, that our investments in our online infrastructure and services are paying off. We are delivering an online experience that’s on par with the best in the industry, and that matches the quality and connectivity demanded by The Division and its players.”

– Stephanie Perotti, Vice President of Online Services, Ubisoft

Breaking the sales record was not the only thing achieved by Ubisoft. Thanks to Tom Clancy’s The Division, during release week, more than 100 million hours were played online by more than 1.2 million players simultaneously. Tom Clancy’s The Division has also topped the most viewed games list on video-streaming platform, Twitch, and its YouTube channel has even surpassed 57 million views.
