It seems that one of the country’s most prestigious universities is being booted out of Blizzard’s Heroes of the Storm college eSports league. One of the players of Team Ambush, who until recently held a spot on the Super Sixteen round, had been sharing his account with another player with a substantially higher rating but not on the roster for official tournaments.
The team has been cut from the tournament, with the players specifically involved being “banned indefinitely from participation in any future Tespa tournaments” (Blizzard). With paid college tuition for the winning team up for grabs, it’s not surprising that this isn’t the first time Heroes of the Dorm has come up against this type of behaviour. Not only have University of Michigan’s Hot Boys team been kicked out for similar reasons, but last year University of Connecticut suffered a similar fate.
