Pokémon: a game series as old as… well, me.
It’s that time again. Just as you thought you’d caught ’em all, whispers of another onslaught of Pokémon come drifting your way, and you find yourself repeating that same old routine: gathering your Pokéballs, staring wistfully at your wallet, and hoping – no, praying – that the newest generation does not include a floating sword and shield.
That’s right folks, the first trailer for Pokémon Sun and Moon is almost upon us.
According to Serebii.net – home of all things Pokémon, including a frankly incredible collection of old episode synopses – the directors for the series – Junichi Masuda and Shigeki Morimoto – alongside Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby director Shigeru Ohmori, will be announcing and discussing the latest game on a weekly variety show in Japan.
This announcement comes after a short video was released for Pokémon’s 20th anniversary last month, which teased the latest pair of games at the end of a tribute to the series as a whole. Check it out:
The trailer itself will be released on the 3rd of April, with the games themselves looking set for another summer launch. Pokémon Sun and Moon will be the first new excursion into the Pokémon universe since X and Y in 2013, so dust off your Pokédex and brace yourselves for some all-new, gloriously 3-Dimensional creature collecting mayhem.
