Sneak peek inside the 7th Dragon III Code: VFD artbook!

Here I am in solitary confinement for being too excited about artbooks

Here I am in solitary confinement for being too excited about artbooks

Before I get (even more) carried away, let’s back up just a little so I can explain why I’m excited.

Dungeon-crawling, temporal-traipsing Nintendo 3DS RPG 7th Dragon III Code: VFD is being brought to the Americas on July 12th and Sega has given us a sneak peek inside the artbook that will come with day one launch copies of the game.

The game offers numerous character classes and a host of enemies and environments, all of which are covered in exquisite detail in the 28-page art book. Miwa Shirow is just one of the artists responsible for some of the design-work and character designs shown in the book, and so it will be a must-have for all collectors!

See below for some delicious artbook samples:

Players can choose three aspects about their character during character creation: Appearance (each with three colour variations), Class (each with a male and female version) and Voice (40 to choose from!).

Players can also expect to see plenty of stunning visuals from the game’s environments in the artbook. I don’t know about you, but I thoroughly enjoy looking at detailed crystal and ice-based architecture that couldn’t even dream of existing in the real world.

These pictures look damn gorgeous and I can’t get over how nice and crisp all the character designs are. The whole thing is very aesthetically pleasing and while the game itself appears to predominantly use chibi-fied character models, I’m sure that the environments will still be a treat to look at, especially in full detail within the artbook. If you’re a sucker for collectibles and artbooks like this one, grabbing the day one edition of 7th Dragon III Code: VFD won’t even be a question.
