Tekken-heads the world over are eagerly anticipating the oddly drawn out release of Namco’s Tekken 7: Fated Retribution to home formats. To help slake their thirst for news, series director Katsuhiro Harada and his ever-present sunglasses took the stage at EVO to reveal two more fighters, who will join the fray when Tekken 7 finally drops in early 2017.
First up is the return of Bob Richards, the behemoth Karate fighter from the good ol’ US of A. Bob, despite his gargantuan frame, has honed his body to give him the perfect balance of speed, strength and agility for his brawls. It would be hard to argue with the guy, seeing as he is a former EVO champion. Bob, saggy jeans and Hawaiian shirt in check, is sure to be back busting heads soon.
Next comes a new challenger to the Tekken Universe. The enigmatic Master Raven is exploding onto the scene, all cybernetic ninja parts and sword skills that would fit quite snugly in the Metal Gear canon. Little is known about this mysterious character, but she is obviously in league with the Raven from Tekken entries past, and she looks to be another fighter utilising teleport attacks and mixup mind-games.
The two new entrants bring the current roster for Tekken 7: FR to an impressive 31 brawlers. The game looks slick and has been well-received by the community in the year following its arcade release. One of the few multi-format fighters this gen, The King of Iron Fist tournament is looking to make a massive impact in the market upon release. Even though, really, we all just want to play as Lucky Chloe.
GIT RIDDY FUR THA NEXT BATTUL!
Tekken 7: Fated Retribution will be released on Playstation 4, Xbox One & Steam early 2017.
