Fallout 4’s final DLC gets a release date

I feel like I’ve let Bethesda down: I was caught up in the real world and completely missed the launch of the 5th DLC for Fallout 4. I felt so guilty, in fact, that I put in extra effort to play it, which actually resulted in a refreshed take on the game that had me ruthlessly abandoning my vault and using the astonishing quantity of resources to make my other, more super-terranean settlements look frankly awesome. The Vault-Tec Workshop is a surprisingly expansive DLC pack, filled with goodies; it is, however, not at all why we’re here.

We’re here for Nuka World.

The team at Bethesda announced yesterday that their 6th and final installment of downloadable content for Fallout 4 would be coming to PC and consoles on August 30th. Nuka World is promising much of what Far Harbor did, in terms of brand new landmasses, bad guys, good guys, and collectible items; a keen eyed data miner also noticed that the file size for the new pack is actually bigger than that of Far Harbor, which may (or may not, I must caveat) mean a wonderfully large world to explore. But enough rambling. Here’s the gameplay trailer:

So. We have lots of new creatures, many of whom are creepy and also crawly; we have a new raider gang, who are a little ordinary-looking but nonetheless a welcome addition. I’m excited to see a large amount of interaction with this very intricate landscape, and I did notice that the park itself looked pretty darn expansive. And whilst we didn’t really get much by way of new weaponry, I’m optimistic that we’ll get some beverage-related destruction in there somewhere.

Need a vacation from the apocalypse? Tough.

I’ve also seen something about leading raider gangs…
