If like me you have been counting down the days until Final Fantasy XV’s release, then unfortunately you’re going to have to count a little longer. Square Enix have confirmed that we will have to wait until November 29th to now get our hands on their next installment in the Final Fantasy series.
Final Fantasy XV’s game director, Hajime Tabata, explained the reason for the delay as “From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series” and that they are “confident that this new release date will help us achieve this”. We all know how frustrating it is having a game you have been waiting for delayed, but if it’s to bring a more complete playing experience then surely it’s a good thing – just look at the shell of a game Capcom released in Street Fighter V.
Luckily there is an abundance of Final Fantasy XV content to indulge in and help fill the void; Final Fantasy XV: Kingsglaive is still set for digital release of August 30th, Final Fantasy XV: Brotherhood has recently released the third episode in the series, you can catch up it here. Also available for download both on PS4 and Xbox One is the Final Fantasy Platinum Demo, which is breathtakingly beautiful and allows you to explore some of the game’s mechanics. Finally if you picked up an early copy of Final Fantasy: Type-0 HD you can delve back into taking on the mighty Behemoth in Episode Duscae.
However, if you have found this news really distressing and need an instant reminder of why Final Fantasy XV is worth the extra 2 month wait, check out the trailer below.
