Ubisoft knows that music and videogames often come together to create a product more immersive and emotional than either on their own. For this reason, the developer is collaborating with music producer Hudson Mohawk to develop the soundtrack for Watch Dogs 2 coming out next month.

After working with such talent as Kanye West, Drake, John Legend, Björk, and more, Hudson Mohawk embraced the opportunity to lend his experience to Watch Dogs 2. “When Ubisoft approached me to work alongside them in developing the game’s sounds, I knew I wanted to use the palette of some cult sci-fi soundtracks while also incorporating my own style,” remarks Mohawk. “It’s been…very rewarding in terms of expressing myself creatively and allowing me to reach new audiences with my music without needing a ‘genre’ stamp.” The first track, “Shanghaied,” is available now on Spotify, Apple Music, Bleep, and Google Play, with the full soundtrack becoming available November 11th.
In Watch Dogs 2, players will take on the role of Marcus Holloway, a hacker set on clearing his name after being accused of a crime he has not committed. To do so, Holloway will hack not just the inhabitants but the very infrastructure of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Watch Dogs 2 will be available for consoles November 15th and for Windows PC November 29th. For more information, check out the title’s official website.
