If there’s one thing that various movies and plenty of games has tought us, it’s that nobody likes orcs, apart from maybe other orcs. These smelly, green monsters are dumb henchmen at best, dangerous adversaries at worst. Robot Entertainment has made its dislike for these creatures abundantly clear stating simply and rather effectively that “Orcs Must Die!”
To ensure that mangling these monsters is as easy and effortless as possible, the creators of Orcs Must Die! and Orcs Must Die! Unchained are about to launch their second annual Orc Week. The event, which begins today, April 4th, and runs until April 10th, will see a 90% Steam discount off games and DLC content. The Orcs Must Die! Franchise Pack on Steam has been updated for Orc Week to include Orcs Must Die: Unchained and The Starter Bundle that has also just been launched. This will contain a bunch of gold, skulls and one week’s worth of Survival Pass time for the upcoming game.
This is the perfect time for new players to get into this green meanie murdering series as they will be able to get all three games in the trilogy plus DLC for the aforementioned 90% discount. In addition to the excellent price-cut, fans will also be treated to an announcement about Orcs Must Die! Unchained this coming Thursday.
“Celebrating the death of Orcs and all things Orc-ish has become a daily obsession for us,” said Patrick Hudson, CEO of Robot Entertainment. “As makers of the industy’s leading orc-giblet generator, it’s important for us to maintain a healthy relationship with our players. Being able to offer amazing prices like this is just one of the many ways that we can ensure orc destruction for years to come.”
Robot Entertainment are encouraging fans to go out and stream their own orc-bashing sessions to their channels but for those of us who might want the more leisurely experience of viewing the carnage from the comfort of our gaming chairs we can tune in to OrcsMustDie.tv every weeknight of the event at 6:30 pm CT for gameplay, Q+A and sneak peeks at new content.
This is a perfect time for existing players to delve deeper into one of their favourite series. New players are also getting an introduction to a group of games that would make a certain very famous fictional short-person very proud indeed. Should you fancy getting involved why not pop over to Steam or tune into OrcsMustDie.tv and take a look for yourselves?
