Robot Entertainment announced that the latest game in their Orcs Must Die! series, Unchained, is now available on a commercial level. It was previously only available via closed beta, but now Orcs Must Die! Unchained can be downloaded via Steam or from the website OrcsMustDie.com.
Orcs Must Die! is a tower defense game franchise known for its hilarious style of action. Unchained is set in the same world as the two previous entries in the series, and the story begins right after the finale of Orcs Must Die! 2.
Unchained brings back everything that made its predecessors so enjoyable, along with a few new features. 3 player team based gameplay will be available in the latest installment, allowing three different gamers to play along cooperatively. There is an all-new sabotage mode in which a team is assembled to defend their rift, but another team is assembled on a different plane and will attempt to distract the opposing team with spells, minions and bosses. Both teams have the ability to affect one another in this way. There will also be dozens of new rifts and worlds beyond.
The game has adopted a free-to-play style in which players can earn in-game currency and upgrades through successful matches. Orcs Must Die! Unchained is currently only available on PC, with a Playstation 4 release due later this year.
