Titanfall 2 adds new maps with A Glitch in the Frontier

Not many games are going the route of entirely free DLC, but the developers over at Respawn Entertainment are really making Titanfall 2 the gift that keeps on giving. We’ve already seen the Angel City’s Most Wanted DLC pack as well as the Live Fire and Colony Reborn updates; now later this month the award winning shooter will be receiving a brand new content update with A Glitch in the Frontier.

In this latest Titanfall 2 update, we will see an all-new multiplayer map inspired by the tutorial arena of the campaign titled Glitch. Most players will notice in the campaign that this map is perfectly set up for chaining together long combinations of wall runs, slides, and boosts through vertical twisting paths, making this an ideal place for a multitude of objective based modes such as capture the flag. Glitch is the most exciting DLC map I have seen Titanfall 2 receive so far. The connecting upper paths and interweaving ground sections make Glitch rife with strategic possibilities.

A Glitch in the Frontier also adds in a brand new robotic faction, M.R.V.N., as well as a new Live Fire map, Deck. This new Live Fire map is a close quarters combat arena similar to a Call of Duty-esque kill house, but set inside a robotic factory. Deck looks to offer new indoor corridor based action to the Live Fire mode, tasking players to adjust their strategies accordingly.

This DLC pack will also include a new for Titanfall 2 mode, Marked for Death. In this game mode a single player from each team will be declared the mark and it is the other players’ goal to both protect their mark, while assassinating the other. Your enjoyment of this mode could hinge on how smart your mark plays. You wouldn’t want your V.I.P. running out guns blazing and compromising your victory; it would be best to quickly find an area that can be locked down easily.

This new DLC will also add some smaller updates such as raising the pilot level cap from Gen 10 to Gen 100, a spruced up main menu, and some brand new executions to show off with. Overall this is a solid offering of content; it’s hard to argue with the free price point. We get some new modes, maps, and UI updates, which adds to the wealth of playability to one of the best FPS games in a long time.

A Glitch in the Frontier will become available for free on April 25th, 2017.

Titanfall 2 is available for purchase on the Playstation 4, the Xbox One, and PC.
