In a zombie apocalypse why can’t we all just get along? Maximum Games, the publisher of such games as The Purge and Styx: Shards of Darkness, has announced team-based multiplayer shooter Dead Alliance. The game is going to take your common military first-person shooter and add zombies to it.
A common complaint I see nowadays in the gaming world is that people are tired of zombie games and since the craze of the Call of Duty games started over a decade ago, there are countless first-person shooters on the market every year. Personally, I absolutely love zombie games and I cannot get enough of them and FPS’s are still very popular.
In Dead Alliance, military bases are humanity’s last safe haven and the different bases are at war with each other. On the FPS side of things, the weapons seem to be your basic modern military equipment. The big difference between this and other zombie games is that you can make zombies fight alongside you with what are called zMods. There will be multiple types of zMods that do different things, for example, the Enrager turns a single zombie into a super soldier and the PAM grenade makes 4 zombies fight on your side with no other changes to them. If you want to know more about the zMods, you can go to the game’s website where they list them here.
The 4v4 multiplayer will have your normal game modes you would expect from a FPS game nowadays, your Team Deathmatch, Free-For-All, and more. There will also be Attrition that I would guess would be close to Titanfall‘s mode, but there is no certainty on that. Plus for all you solo players out there, the game will feature single player content with a Solo Survival mode.
The following announcement trailer shows off the not-so-serious military shooter:
Dead Alliance will release August 29th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC for $39.99 so this could be a nice, fun little game to spend your time on. Anything cheaper than the usual $60 can deserve a look, but be cautious of that price drop if you are expecting a full epic AAA experience.
The game will have a preorder edition called the “Rapid Dominance” Day One Edition which will include three loadouts with different weapons and perks for multiplayer so hopefully this will be available to everyone post release, and will not throw out the balance of the game for those who do not preorder.
