The original release of the well-loved Dissidia Final Fantasy – a unique brawler featuring heroes, villains, mascots, and summons across the entire Final Fantasy series – was way back in 2008 on the PSP. It has since spawned a PSP sequel – Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy Duodecim – which included a few new characters and mechanics but was ultimately the same thing – and that’s not a bad thing. The first Dissidia was also released in 2015 in a Japan-only arcade release much like you would expect from games like Tekken (it’s wonderfully fun).
Today, Square Enix has announced that the Dissidia arcade version will be coming to Playstation 4 worldwide! Square have teamed up with veteran fighting game studio Team NINJA from KOEI TECMO GAMES to release a truly spectacular fighter which caters to every Final Fantasy fan. The PS4 release will offer strategic online and offline play, and players will be able to select from over 20 legendary characters and familiar summons, including Ifrit, Shiva, and Odin, to bring into 3 vs 3 battle featuring Dissidia’s unique bravery combat system, seamless gameplay, and unparalleled visuals.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is due to be released some time in 2018, worldwide, for PS4 consoles.
